Thoughts & experience with Motherhood:

“I found out I was expecting my daughter at the age of 19. For someone who grew up very sheltered and was now living independently, I was scared. I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea of being responsible for another human being. How would I do it, while I am still evolving?

Despite my fears, I felt this unconditional love for this little human that I have yet to meet. Raising my daughter, I became more patient and compassionate. Not just towards her—but to myself. I realized that motherhood was key in healing my inner child. I didn’t grow up feeling empowered, so I encourage her to use her voice, to take up space and go after her goals.

My desire is that she grows up feeling loved, and that she can give that love to herself. I feel that it is my mission to do so through nurturing her growing mind, and with my unconditional love.”

Thoughts & experience with Mother Nature:

“It is easy to take for granted the nurturing resources Mother Earth provides us. Appreciating her beauty is easy, but it’s nurturing her back that I want to continue working on. One of the ways we do this in our home is through mindful consumption and reducing waste. I fear that my daughter will experience more drastic consequences of the environmental issues we currently face, and so I do my best to do my part.”
